Notice: Deep Sea Wage Scale Delegate Requirements and Elections / Contract Preperation

The local will send five delegates. The 1588 President and Secretary-Treasurer are delegates by virtue of their office. The remaining three will be elected from the deep sea rank and file.

To be eligible you must:
• Be a 1588 Deep Sea member in good standing.
• Attend Three (3) out of four (4) contract meetings listed below.
• Not violate consent decree.

You may be nominated by signing the nomination form at the Union Hall during any one of the below contract meetings.

A secret ballot election for three rank and file delegates will be held outside Global on Thursday, December 15th. Time to be arranged.

Deep Sea members who wish to run for wage scale delegate must attend three out of four contract meetings at the union hall. The purpose is to help members prepare demands for membership approval and understand the issues. Any Deep Sea member may attend these meetings. The meeting schedule is below:

• CANCELED Wages and Benefits (Monday 11/21/11 5pm)*
• New Technology, Jurisdiction, and organizing Non-union Work (Monday , 11/28/11 5pm)
• Safety and Work Rules (Monday , 12/5/11 5pm)
•* RESCHEDULED Wages and Benefits (Thurs 12/8/11 5pm)
• Hiring and Absentee Policy (Monday 12/12/11 5pm)
