A further step has been taken toward the possible construction of a liquefied natural gas export terminal at Prince Rupert.
Spectra Energy has announced an agreement with BG Group, which has been talking about the project for some time with the Port of Prince Rupert and others.
The two Texas-based companies are proposing to build an 850-kilometre pipeline from northernern B.C. to an LNG terminal at Prince Rupert. Each would initially own half of the pipeline.

It’s something civil rights activists have been concerned about and it’s turned out to be true. Federal agents have been monitoring the Occupy movement and protestors. And, the FBI has released some records of its surveillance, but far from all of them.
Monday marks the one-year anniversary of the first Occupy encampment on Wall Street in New York City. Shortly thereafter, Occupy Oakland grew into one of the most active encampments in the country.The ACLU now says it has received documents that basically confirm what a lot of people have suspected, that the federal government has been keeping a watchful eye on Occupy.
Newly-laid sod outside Oakland City Hall is being carefully tended to as part of the efforts to repair Frank Ogawa Plaza since Occupy Oakland demonstrators were evicted. On the sidewalk, a group of artists has filled in a chalk illustration commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Occupy movement.
