The 18,000 TEU Triple-E class vessel Marie Maersk is scheduled to arrive in Rotterdam on December 6.
APM Terminals Rotterdam is retrofitting five of its existing post-Panamax cranes with new booms, to allow for a 23-container row reach for 18,000teu vessels.
APM plans to have the upgrades, which consist of both engineering and software adjustments, completed by the arrival of the 18,000teu Triple-E class vessel Marie Maersk, scheduled to arrive in Rotterdam on 6 December as part of the weekly Asia/North Europe AE10 service. Marie Maersk is the fourth Triple-E class vessel out of a total of 20 scheduled for delivery over the next two years.

After the Kaiser Aluminum smelter closed in 2000, the Port of Tacoma bought the 96-acre site. It demolished 75 buildings and cleaned up decades of pollution on the site.The former site of a World War II-era aluminium smelter on the Tacoma Tideflats is attracting renewed interest from a handful of potential developers.
The 60-acre tract between the Blair and Hylebos Waterways’ south ends has drawn letters of intent from five developers who say they intend to submit proposals for the property by mid-December.
The land owner, the Port of Tacoma, put the property up for long-term lease last month after a deal with an oil distribution firm, Targa Sound Terminal, collapsed.
