The Port of Seattle workers had a long night ahead of them Friday after learning about a powerful storm at sea damaged some of the shipping containers on board. The ship is currently docked at Terminal 18.
According to Coast Guard officials, the container ship named Arnold Maersk came into port Friday from Busan, Korea. The ship departed Korea on November 12, 2013 and encountered severe weather on the seas.

A group of Port of Oakland truck drivers pushing for better pay and other changes voted Friday to stop work at the port on Wednesday, officials said.
The Port of Oakland Truckers Association, a group representing around 350 truckers, said members voted unanimously for the work stoppage Sunday after meetings with Oakland Mayor Jean Quan and other officials failed to achieve any changes.
The truckers are unable to form a union, as the port considers them independent contractors rather than employees.

Military Sealift Command (MSC) has awarded a contract to Maersk Line Ltd. in Norfolk, Va., to charter a ship to function as a “maritime support vessel.”
The $73 million contract, with options for four 12-month options for a potential total value of $143 million, calls for a U.S.-flag, twin-shaft vessel for use into November 2014, and potentially through October 2018.
The ship is MV Cragside, said Jim Marconi, a spokesman for MSC, though he added, “We can’t provide details relating to the ship’s mission.”
